While Samsung’s Galaxy S23 series is now the star of its flagship lineup, the company has nevertheless remained consistent in releasing updated software patches for many of its older devices. As such, a new update has finally arrived for the Galaxy S20, S20+, and S20 Ultra, Samsung’s older flagship phones from three years ago.
The new update comes with software version number G98xBXXSFGWAD, and is now available for 5G variants of the device in several regions including Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Guatemala, Mexico, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Trinidad & Tobago, and Uruguay. The new update brings the February 2023 patch which features some fixes for security and vulnerability issues for the S20 series phones. Meanwhile, 4G versions of the S20 phones will get a software update with version number G98xFXXSFGWAD.
The Galaxy S20 phones were released back in 2020, and succeeded the Galaxy S10 devices (skipping numbers 11-19 altogether). The phones originally launched with Android 10 onboard, and received software upgrades until last year’s Android 13.
To check if your device can download the newest update, simply head into Settings > Software Update > Download and Install to check if your device is eligible for the latest system update.
