Over the years, Nubia’s Red Magic series of smartphones have been gaining a bit of attention for being extremely powerful devices, being able to keep up with the likes of more mainstream handset manufacturers like Samsung.
If you’re a fan of the Nubia brand, then you might be interested to learn that the company has since taken the wraps off its latest smartphone in the form of the Nubia Red Magic 8 Pro which comes with specs that we imagine could pose a challenge to other flagships that are being planned for 2023.
For starters, the phone will be using Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset. It will also be accompanied by Nubia’s very own Red Magic R2 chip that will help with the gaming aspects of the phone, like improved sound, colors, better touchscreen sensitivity, and haptic feedback.
The phone will also be packing a 6.8-inch AMOLED FHD+ display with support for 120Hz refresh rate, along with up to 960Hz touch sampling rate. The Red Magic 8 Pro will also feature a triple camera on the back consisting of a 50MP main camera that uses Samsung’s ISOCELL GN5 sensor, an 8MP ultrawide, and a 2MP macro. There will also be a front-facing camera that’s hidden under the display to create a more seamless look.
Speaking of gaming, which is one of the things Nubia’s brand is known for, the Red Magic 8 Pro will have ICE 11.0 cooling features that includes multiple layers of graphite sheets and a 3D vapor chamber, along with built-in fans capable of running at 20,000 RPM. There are also physical additions like shoulder buttons for better gaming ergonomics.
Last but not least, the Red Magic 8 Pro will come with a massive 6,000mAh battery that can support 165W charging, but take note that it will only ship with an 80W charger. For those who are keen on the Nubia Red Magic 8 Pro, it will be going on sale in China on the 28th of December, and will be launching internationally starting in January 2023 where it will be priced at 3,999 yuan which is roughly $574 converted.
