As more and more companies launch their fitness-related tech, we’ve seen a wide array of wearable devices designed to help us stay in shape. Garmin in particular is no stranger to developing and producing top-of-the-line wearables, and the company has added a new device to its fitness tracker line-up.
Dubbed the vivosmart 5, Garmin’s latest fitness tracker comes with an array of hardware designed to help you keep an eye on your health. The vívosmart 5 comes with at-a-glance health stats for Pulse Ox, built-in 24/7 heart rate monitoring, “Body BatteryTM” energy monitoring, as well as stress tracking. The tracker comes in a compact and curvy design, with a similar look to the company’s previous fitness trackers. It also features a small display that shows only the essentials, as well as a single button on the front for operation.
As with all fitness trackers, the vívosmart 5 keeps a log of your steps, calories burned and intensity minutes, and features pre-installed apps for activities like running, cardio, walking, lap swimming, among others. The device also comes with alerts for notifications and calendar events, and can of course pair to your smartphone. According to Garmin, the vivosmart 5 can last up to seven days of battery life on a single charge, and the device is “swim and shower proof.” There’s no built-in GPS functionality however, so you’ll have to keep it paired to your phone for GPS tracking.
If you’re interested in checking out the device, it’s available for $149.99 on Garmin’s website.
