After the Galaxy S21 FE was presumably seen passing through the FCC, the device has now seemingly passed through TENAA, China’s version of the FCC. On the first go-’round, we saw confirmation of the “main” specs including the Snapdragon 888 and 45W fast charging.
This time around, TENAA has revealed a bit more in terms of the design of the Galaxy S21 FE. Notably, the phone is said to sport dimensions of 155.7 x 4.5 x 7.9mm, although the 4.5mm width is likely a typo and it’s likely to be “74.5mm”. With these dimensions, the S21 FE would be the same width as its predecessor, while being a bit more slimmed down. This would make the device easier to hold and use on a regular basis, something that can’t be said for the Galaxy S21 Ultra.
Also revealed in the TENAA listings is the display size and battery capacity. The S21 FE will sport a 6.4-inch display, likely with up to a 120Hz refresh rate, along with a 4,370mAh battery. This may pale in comparison to other devices, but Samsung has fine-tuned its software to the point where you don’t need the biggest batteries in order to just make it through the day.
Perhaps the most surprising addition to the Galaxy S21 FE is the 45W fast charging that was revealed previously. Samsung’s current flagships in the Galaxy Z Fold 2 and Galaxy S21 Ultra are limited to 25W, so making the move with a Fan Edition is sure to raise some eyebrows. For all intents and purposes, it seems that Samsung has given up on super-fast charging, as OnePlus and Xiaomi continue to push the limits.
We’re expecting to see the Galaxy S21 FE launched around the same time that the Galaxy Z Fold 3 is introduced. Until then, it will be nothing more than speculation and leaks.
