By The new Pixel 3a is quite an incredible device, mainly because Google crammed in the same camera that it used on the original Pixel 3. While high-end processors and infinite RAM are all the rage among Android enthusiasts, a solid camera is still the #1 feature that all smartphone buys are interested in.
To give you an idea of how similar the camera experience is between the $800 Pixel 3 and the new $400 Pixel 3a, we took over 60 side-by-side pictures with the two smartphones to see how the sensors handle different lighting situations. We’ve also thrown in a handful of video clips from the rear and front-facing cameras to give you look at the video and audio quality you can expect from the new Pixel 3a.
