Unsupported cards in Android Pay will no longer work after tomorrow

Thanks to plenty of promotions with partners like Uber and Visa, Android Pay has grown to support over 30 banks and credit institutions. That’s a good chunk of national banks in the US, but many smaller credit unions and banks remain unsupported. Google is removing support for cards that don’t support Android Pay natively, which means any cards grandfathered into Android Pay from a Google Wallet account will be removed.

The company sent out an email to let all Android Pay users who have unsupported cards know about the change.

How do I check if I have an unsupported card?

1. Open the Android Pay app.
2. Select a payment card.
3. Cards that won’t work will show the message, “Change Google Payments PIN.”

If your card displays this message, that means tomorrow the card will be removed from the service entirely. If you have a card in Android Pay that is supported, it will become your default payment method. For multiple supported cards, one will become the default so Google suggests checking to make sure its the one you want to use in the service.
