Samsung says a hot Galaxy Note 7 is not a “safety concern”

Galaxy-Note-7-review (9)

The new and non-explosive version of the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 is finally available at most places. However, the problems haven’t completely gone away. Many users of the new Note 7 have reported that the phone gets very hot while doing things like making phone calls. Some say the phone gets so hot it can’t be placed next to their face. Does Samsung have another recall to issue? Not quite.

Samsung released a statement yesterday to address the issue:

“There have been a few reports about the battery charging levels and we would like to reassure everyone that the issue does not pose a safety concern. In normal conditions, all smartphones may experience temperature fluctuations.”

If you’ve used Android devices for a while you can attest to what Samsung is saying. Overheating is a common issue in many smartphones. There was a lot of drama about the Snapdragon 810 and HTC One M9 getting extremely hot. Do a search for “overheating” on Phandroid and you’ll find a lot of articles. If your replacement Note 7 is getting hot, don’t freak out.
