Official Samsung Gear S2 adapter spotted in Germany, allows the watch to use regular watch bands

The Samsung Galaxy Gear S2 is one helluva smartwatch. If there was any downside to the device, it’s that the Gear S2 is only compatible with bands made especially for your watch. This limits how far you can change the look of the watch and rules out the possibility of ever using your favorite bands, or new ones you might come across down the road. But it appears that will soon change.

An adapter for the Gear S2 was spotted in Germany, and it looks to bring compatibility with existing watch bands. Priced at €27.5, the adapter comes in both Gear S2 colors (black or silver) with tiny brackets like the S2 Classic that may change the overall look of the watch, if not slightly. Although it’s only showing up on a German retailer’s website, there’s a good chance we could see this soon in the US or other markets.

It’s a shame there are no photos of what this will look like when connected to the watch, it’d make pulling the trigger on this a lot easier. We’ll keep an eye out for more info/availability details.
