T-Mobile announces ‘Enhanced Voice Services’ for even clearer voice calls, arrives first on Galaxy S7/S7 Edge and LG G5

While other carriers are still talking about HD voice, T-Mobile is already moving past it. Today, the Un-carrier is announcing “Enhanced Voice Services” (EVS) on their network, something that looks to improve both voice call reliability, as well as higher-quality calls than their previous HD Voice effort.

The best part is T-Mobile says the technology wont just improve call quality when making T-Mobile-to-T-Mobile calls, the technology actually “captures a much broader audio frequency range,” which means you should notice drastically improved quality even when placing calls to non-HD networks. Amazing.

T-Mobile is debuting EVS first on the Samsung Galaxy S7/S7 Edge and the LG G5. The G5 supports EVS out of the box, while both the S7 and S7 Edge have already received software updates to enable this functionality. Looking ahead, T-Mobile says they plan on having 7 handsets supporting EVS by year’s end.
