Verizon is finally ready to start rolling out Marshmallow to the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge

With that pesky Galaxy S7 launch out of the way, carriers like Verizon can finally get back to focusing their energy on pushing out Marshmallow to the devices that really need it. You know, like last year’s Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge.

Big Red’s support pages have just been updated for both devices, detailing everything S6/S6 Edge owners can expect from the new system update. There are a handful of new core Android features, ones we’ve already detailed before in the past. Things like granular permission controls, Google Now on Tap, and Doze for added standby battery life. But on top of all that, Samsung’s adding changes of their own, these are on top of what has already been introduced in Marshmallow. Most of the bigger changes are coming in the form of an all new — much wider — Edge panel for the S6 Edge, with UI tweaks found throughout for both devices.

We’re expecting the rollout to officially begin starting tomorrow and you can always attempt to manually pull the update by jumping into your Settings > About device > and selecting Software update to see if the update is ready. If not, don’t freak out, just try again later or the next day.
