Although the FitBit Surge was seen as a sort of pseudo smartwatch, it wasn’t until the FitBit Blaze — unveiled during this year’s CES a little over a month ago — that FitBit finally dived head first into the world of smartwatches. With a square, full color display, the Blaze is a smartwatch in the more traditional sense, something that you could easily wear at work or with a suit.
Today, the Blaze has officially gone up for sale, priced at $200 for the black silicone model on Amazon. The watch face actually pops out, allowing you to swap it with other strap options available, albeit at a pretty steep premium. The leather strap is priced at $100, while the metal is $130. Even still, $200 isn’t asking for much considering all that the watch offers. Here are some of the more standout features:
- Track steps, distance, calories burned, floors climbed and active minutes
- Get PurePulse continuous, wrist-based heart rate monitoring with no uncomfortable chest straps
- See simplified heart rate zones for quickly checking exercise intensity during workouts
- Use multi-sport tracking to track runs, cardio, cross-training, biking and more
- Effortlessly and automatically record workouts to your dashboard with SmartTrack
- Enable Connected GPS to map your routes and see run stats like pace and duration on display (when your phone is nearby)
- Start a FitStar workout on your wrist and get step-by-step instructions and graphics to ensure you complete each move correctly
The silicone straps come in 3 colors: black, blue, or purple, and small or large sizes. Links provided below.
