Smartphones aren’t the only Android devices Sony is invested in. Year after year, the Japanese company churns out new models of its televisions, some of them — their really high-end models — powered by Android TV. Sony recently announced 3 new 4K HDR UHD television sets — the XBR-X850D, XBR-X930D, and XBR-940D — back during CES, each one featuring TRILUMINOS displays, Sony’s 4K Processor X1 engine, and capable of displaying HDR content. Today, these super high-end televisions are officially available for pre-order. Here’s the pricing for each specific model:
XBR-X850D Series
- XBR-55X850D, 55” – $2,499.99
- XBR-65X850D, 65” – $3,499.99
- XBR-75X850D, 75” – $4,999.99
- XBR-85X850D, 85” – $9,999.99
XBR-X930D Series
- XBR-55X930D, 55” – $3,299.99
- XBR-65X930D, 65” – $4,999.99
XBR-X940D Series
- XBR-75X940D, 75” – $7,999.99
Both the X930D series and flagship X940D also benefit from full-array backlighting, which uses Sony’s Slim Backlight Drive with “a unique grid array local dimming and boosting backlighting structure to distribute the backlight source more precisely to each specific zone of the screen.” In other words: sh*ts nuts. For those that would rather wait, these TVs will be hitting Amazon and Best Buy stores early next month, so you can see what all the hype is about in person.
