LG confirms plans to launch 2 flagship devices this year

0

It’s not so surprising, as much as it is further confirmation that LG will not just be launching 1, but 2 flagship devices this year. The South Korean manufacturer made their plans known during their quarterly financial report where we learned their mobile division actually lost quite a bit of money in both Q3 and Q4 of last year.

Although the names of these upcoming devices weren’t mentioned, there’s a very good chance they were talking about the LG G5 and a followup to the LG V10. They also mentioned plans to launch these devices alongside a new “cost-competitive value” line in order to increase overall profits and bring them back into the green this year. Well, that’s the plan anyway.

Mobile World Congress kicks off next month and while LG always have a presence with new mid-range to low-end hardware, this year it seems they’ve finally gotten on the same release schedule as Samsung will will unveil the LG G5 to head-to-head with the Samsung Galaxy S7 in Barcelona. Should be a good show.

I've been obsessed with consumer technology for about as long as I can remember, be it video games, photography, or mobile devices. If you can plug it in, I have to own it. Preparing for the day when Android finally becomes self-aware and I get to welcome our new robot overlords.

Deal: Google also cuts $50 off the price of the Nexus 5X as part of Valentines Day promo, 16GB now only $299
