Galaxy Z Fold 7 could match Find N5 in thinness

Samsung’s new foldables just leaked again—this time through Evan Blass (@evleaks)—and the Galaxy Z Fold 7’s thinness might finally be worth discussing. The leak gives us another angle of the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7, both in a half-opened state, and yeah, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 looks seriously slim.

The Galaxy Z Fold 6 has already been trimmed down quite a bit compared to older models. However, it is still noticeably thicker than rivals like the OPPO Find N5, which sits at just 8.9mm when folded. Now it looks like the Fold 7 might match that. That’s a big deal—Samsung’s foldables have never really been known for sleekness, but this might be the first one that doesn’t feel like a mini sandwich in your pocket.

The leaked images clearly show the difference. The Fold 7 is visibly thinner than the Fold 6, and the punch-hole camera is sticking around on the main display. So far, there are no signs of an under-display camera.

The Galaxy Z Flip 7 doesn’t look radically different in terms of thickness, which makes sense. The Flip 6 was already plenty thin. But it’s getting a larger outer screen this year. Instead of a folder-style panel, the new cover display wraps around the rear cameras. That alone should make it way more useful, assuming Samsung doesn’t lock it down with app limitations.

The Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7 are expected to be announced on July 9 at Samsung’s next Unpacked event. While they’ll both have some hardware bumps, the main visual changes are all about thinness and usability, especially for the Fold.
