A weird Chrome incognito bug is making it annoying to use

0

Small bugs can mess with your phone in big ways. Case in point: the new Chrome incognito tab bug that’s making Android just a bit more annoying.

If you use incognito mode in Chrome (and let’s be real, most of us do), you know you’ll get a reminder if you forget to close those tabs. Chrome sends a notification letting you shut them all down with a single tap—handy, right? Except now, after you close your incognito tabs, a “Processing” Toast pops up at the bottom of your screen.

The annoying part? While that Toast is visible, you can’t do anything on your home screen. No opening apps, no swiping up for the app drawer—nothing. It only lasts a few seconds, but it’s just long enough to be annoying.

People first thought this Chrome incognito tab bug was a Samsung thing, since reports showed up after One UI 7 landed. Turns out, that’s not the case. Users on other Android brands are getting hit, too. So, it’s not just a Galaxy problem—it’s Chrome-wide.

Right now, there’s no real fix. You can only wait for Google to roll out a Chrome update to squash it. Until then, just expect a few seconds of forced downtime every time you close incognito tabs. It’s minor, but it’s a good reminder of how even small bugs can mess with the whole Android experience.
