Sony’s New Xperia Phones are Finally Arriving this Month

It’s been a while since the launch of Sony’s Xperia VI-series phones, and the Japanese tech giant is getting ready to unveil its new follow-up devices soon, which will most likely include the upcoming Xperia 1 VII flagship, as well as its more affordable range.

That in mind, a barrage of posts on Sony’s official social media pages reveal the launch date which is scheduled for May 13th, at 11:00 AM (Japan)/ 04:00 CEST​, and will be streamed via Sony Xperia’s official YouTube channel. Sony hasn’t specified which phones will be included in the launch however, given that it didn’t launch a VI-series model for the Xperia V range, opting for just the Xperia 1 and 10 models.

Sony isn’t the only brand launching a new phone on that date however—Samsung has also confirmed that it will launch the much-hyped Galaxy S25 Edge on May 13, albeit not at the same time as the upcoming Xperia launch. The Xperia 1 VII is expected to come with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite, as well as a design that doesn’t stray too much from the original.
