The Vivo X200 Ultra has officially launched…in China

0

The vivo X200 Ultra is now official. And it’s one of the boldest smartphone launches of 2025 so far.

Galaxy S25 Ultra deal

It’s powered by the new Snapdragon 8 Elite chip. This includes two 4.32GHz prime cores and six 3.53GHz performance cores. Graphics are handled by the Adreno 830 GPU.

The display is a 6.78-inch QHD+ LTPO AMOLED panel. It’s quad-curved, hits 4,500 nits brightness, and refreshes at 120Hz. That’s one of the brightest screens on any phone.

The phone runs Android 15 with OriginOS 5. Vivo promises four years of Android updates and five years of security patches. That’s great news for long-term buyers.

The cameras are where things get wild. The main shooter uses a 50MP 35mm lens—rare for phones. There’s also a 50MP ultrawide and a 200MP 3.7x periscope zoom.

However, the best part is the optional accessories. You can attach a 2.35x telephoto lens and grip. This gives you native 8.7x optical zoom and better controls. The grip adds a battery, shutter buttons, and a zoom dial.

Prices start at 6,499 yuan ($890). The top-end Photographer Kit costs 9,699 yuan ($1,329). It includes the grip, lens, strap, and a 1TB model. You can also buy the kit alone for ~233 USD.

Sadly, vivo confirmed there are no plans for a global release. That’s disappointing—this is one of the most exciting phone launches this year.
