Google is giving college students free access to Gemini Advanced until Spring 2026

If you’re a college student in the US, Google just handed you a pretty sweet deal. For a limited time, the company is giving students free access to Gemini Advanced—no credit card, no catch. The promo includes all the perks of the Google One AI Premium plan and runs until Spring 2026.

That means students can tap into the power of Gemini 2.5 Pro, Google’s top AI model, and generate text-to-video using Veo 2. It also unlocks long context capabilities, Deep Research, and NotebookLM Plus—all of which should come in handy during finals season.

Tools like Whisk and Gemini integrations in Docs, Sheets, and Slides are also part of the bundle. Basically, this is the full AI toolkit. To sweeten the deal, Google’s throwing in 2TB of cloud storage, too. That should cover most projects, research papers, and media files students are juggling.

To get in, you’ll need to sign up before June 30. Once you’re in, you’ll get full access until Spring 2026. That’s more than a year’s worth of premium features. It’s also plenty of time to figure out if it’s worth the $20/month price tag once the trial ends.

This move comes as Google continues reworking its Google One strategy. The company recently announced the shutdown date for its VPN service, signaling a shift in priorities. It’s now focusing more on AI features across its ecosystem.

Even if you’re not a student, there’s still some good news. Google has quietly opened up several Gemini Advanced features for free to regular users over the past few months. This includes tools like Deep Research, file analysis, and the Gemini Live camera and screen sharing feature, which recently dropped the paywall.
