As far as content creation is concerned, Blackmagic is one of the usual go-to brands for users after competent editing software, and the team behind the official Android app recently announced some new changes which also brings over some features which were previously only available on iOS devices.
For one, the app has been expanded to include compatibility with a number of new devices, including Samsung’s latest Galaxy S25-series phones. Additionally, the Blackmagic Android app will also work with a number of tablets including the Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 and even the Xiaomi Pad 6 to name a couple, which does make a lot of sense given that video-editing software is easier to manage on larger screens.
More impressively however is that the update will now allow users to connect multiple devices simultaneously, and users will have the option of controlling up to nine separate devices either using WiFi or wired network connectivity. For Sony Xperia phones, the app can now support recording at high frame rates at up to 120fps and 240fps.
Other changes include Lens control via Tilta Nucleus USB devices, a new drag-select feature for multiple clips, German language support, and a number of general performance and stability improvements.
