Google Finally Adds a Basic Feature to its Photos App

While the Google Photos app isn’t as fleshed-out as other image editing apps on Android, it does come with a decent-enough set of features and filters for casual users, although there’s one feature that’s always been missing from the app – namely, the “mirror” image feature, although Google has finally changed this.

Some users have been reporting that they can now edit images with a new flip option, which is available when cropping a photo. As someone who uses an unlocked Pixel 9 in the United Kingdom, I can confirm that the feature is now available on my device as well.

Why it took Google so long to implement this feature we’ll never know, although it’s a nice addition especially considering that more powerful editing tricks (such as Magic Editor) are available on Google Photos. Even the “Magic Editor” feature has long been available on non-Pixel devices, and it’s nice to see a new addition make its way onto the app.
