Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra has a Bluetooth S Pen that you can buy separately

Samsung’s Galaxy S25 Ultra is undeniably a powerhouse smartphone. It boasts cutting-edge AI features and impressive performance, thanks to the use of Qualcomm’s latest chipset. However, one change has left fans scratching their heads. The S Pen included with the Galaxy S25 Ultra is no longer Bluetooth-enabled.

This is quite a downgrade from previous S Pen models and phone launches. The Bluetooth functionality enabled features like air gestures and remote controls for presentations, media playback, and more. According to Samsung, the company justified this decision by claiming that Bluetooth-specific features like air gestures weren’t popular among users

However, the move feels less about practicality and more like a strategy to increase the company’s profits. This change was noted in a footnote of a Samsung blog post on using the S Pen for productivity, where the company revealed that it will sell a separate Bluetooth-enabled S Pen for the S25 Ultra. However, the price of this Bluetooth-enabled S Pen remains unclear.

While some users may not have relied heavily on Bluetooth features, removing the Bluetooth S Pen from the default package seems kind of shady, especially when you consider how much the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra costs, especially for a phone over the $1,000 mark. You would think that including a Bluetooth S Pen would be the least Samsung could do, especially since the company included it in previous models.

Either way, it’s something that customers will have to take into consideration if they are planning on getting the device.
