Samsung is bringing more battery health information to the Galaxy S25

0

Samsung has officially unveiled the highly anticipated Galaxy S25 lineup, showcasing the latest and most powerful hardware to make its way into a smartphone. In addition to showcasing new hardware, Samsung is also introducing new software features, one of which is providing battery health information for its Galaxy S25 users. This will provide users with greater insight into the batteries in their phones that could impact the device’s health and longevity.

This information includes the battery health, the cycle count, the manufacture date, and the first used date. Users will be able to find this information by going to the Galaxy S25’s Settings > Battery > Battery information. Note that third-party apps already show this kind of information, but it’s always nice to have it available natively. This will make it easier for users who aren’t as tech-savvy.

This type of battery health information is useful for Galaxy S25 users. This is because the longer we use our devices, the more our batteries degrade. Over time, the battery life on our devices won’t be the same as it was when we first got it. By giving users information about the phone’s battery, users can decide if they need to replace the battery. Alternatively, it can also be sort of used as a diagnostic tool.

For instance, if you realize the battery is draining particularly fast, but your battery health is still high, chances are it could be due to software issues. We’re not sure if Samsung has plans to expand this battery health information to non-Galaxy S25 phones via a software update, so we’ll have to wait and see.
