The ASUS ROG Phone 9 FE could be launching soon

Companies like Samsung have released FE phones in the past. This is designed as a more affordable alternative to the current flagship phones. Now, ASUS could be following suit. According to recent reports, the ASUS ROG Phone 9 FE could be launching soon.

Galaxy S25 Ultra deal

In a report from 91mobiles, they have spotted a listing in the SIRIM certification database for the handset. For those unfamiliar, SIRIM is the Malaysian equivalent of the FCC. This suggests that the handset could be close to launch.

The ASUS ROG Phone 9 FE is rumored to be a variant of the ROG Phone 9 that launched back in 2024. As expected of the “FE” designation, the handset will pack less powerful hardware. The report claims that it could feature the use of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. This is versus the regular ROG Phone 9 that uses the Snapdragon 8 Elite.

This doesn’t mean that the FE version is “worse”. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 was the chipset of choice for flagships in 2024. It is an incredibly powerful chipset, but it isn’t quite as attractive compared to the Snapdragon 8 Elite.

Either way, we’ll have to wait and see when the handset launches. Hopefully, the sighting on the database means we won’t have to wait too long.
