If you own HMD’s Lumia-esque Skyline phone, then you might want to check your settings app for a new update – it’s reported that Android 15 has finally started rolling out for HMD’s easily-repairable smartphone, bringing along a ton of different features.

Galaxy S25 Ultra deal

Coming in at around 3GB, Android 15 for the HMD Skyline features software version number V2.270, as well as the December 2024 security patch. As mentioned, there are new tricks that come packaged as well, which include optimizations to system performance for quicker app launches and reduced lag, as well as improved battery life management.

The update also focuses on user privacy and security with improved app permissions, automatic permission resets, and enhancements to data encryption. HMD has also included adaptive battery improvements for better power management based on usage patterns and resource allocation. Finally, the notification system has been tweaked so users have better control over which apps and events can send alerts.

It should be noted that the HMD Skyline is only scheduled for two Android updates, with Android 16 being the last update that the phone will receive.
