If you’re running WhatsApp’s beta version for Android devices, then you might want to check your phone for the latest app update, which brings its software patch to the latest 2.25.1.27 version – it looks like WhatsApp parent company Meta is looking to integrate Meta AI into the chat app, directly from users’ home screens.
A screenshot shared by the folks over at WhatsApp Beta Info shows the implementation of a new Meta AI widget, an optional feature which will allow features to directly access Meta AI. The widget will appear as an option for accounts that use AI-powered chats, which at the moment is limited to select regions. Tapping on the widget initiates a conversation with Meta for queries and image generation purposes, to name a few.

It’s not clear yet when this feature will make its way to the official stable version of WhatsApp, but it probably won’t be too long from now. Currently, Meta AI can be also accessed via the Facebook Messenger app under a dedicated tab.
