OnePlus 13: First Things to Do

0

OnePlus has officially unveiled the OnePlus 13 as the current-generation Android flagship. It is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite processor for superior performance. Other noteworthy features include a massive 6,000mAh battery, IP69 and IP68 rating, and micro-fiber vegan leather design.

If you have got your hands on the new OnePlus 13 or have decided to get one, here are the things you should do first with the OnePlus 13 to get started.

Get a Case

The first thing you should do is to get a OnePlus 13 case. It will help you protect the smartphone from drops, bumps, and other damage that may occur during day-to-day usage. It is up to you whether to go for an official OnePlus case or get one from any of the numerous third-party options.

Get a Screen Protector

The OnePlus 13 has a gorgeous 6.82-inch AMOLED display with 1440 x 3168 pixels resolution and 120Hz refresh rate. It is a panel you will enjoy watching content on but as we always say, displays are highly vulnerable to getting damaged. There is a high probability that you may end up with a display ruined with scratches or worse. This is why you should get a good screen protector for complete peace of mind.

Check for Updates

There is a good chance that your brand-new OnePlus 13 has a new software update waiting to be installed. Ideally, it should get downloaded automatically but you can visit the settings to check for any pending update downloads and installs. The latest software brings new features, bug fixes, and performance improvements.

Add Fingerprint or Face Lock

Add a fingerprint or face lock to your OnePlus 13 for security purposes if you did not during the initial setup process. It will ensure that no one else can access your phone and any sensitive data when you are not paying attention.

Customize Lock Screen

One of the best things about Android is customization and OnePlus has taken it to the next level for lock screen. With the latest OxygenOS 15 on OnePlus 13, you can choose from plenty of eye-pleasing lock screen customization options. There are depth effects, text styles, clock styles, text/clock position adjustments, and more.

Check Out AI Features

AI features are everywhere and OnePlus is no exception. The OnePlus 13 has multiple AI features for you to explore and play around with. There is AI Detail Boost for making photos look sharper, AI Unblur for removing blur from photos, AI Reflection Eraser for removing reflections from photos, and AI Notes for quick cleanup, formatting, tone adjustment, and summary.

OnePlus Easter Egg

Your OnePlus 13 has a cool easter egg in the calculator app. We will not spoil it for you. Simply, open the calculator app on your smartphone and input “1”, “+”, and “=” to check out the easter egg for yourself.

Open Canvas

Open Canvas is a multi-tasking feature that debuted on the OnePlus Open foldable. The good thing is it is now available for non-foldable smartphones with OxygenOS 15. It will let you multitask with two apps without compromising on the visual estate i.e. no more half-panes.

Live Alerts

Live Alerts is OnePlus’ take on Live Activities/Dynamic Island that we get on iPhone. You can easily check relevant information from supported apps at the top without opening that particular app. The best part is you can check Live Alerts for up to three apps at the same time.

Theft Protection

OxygenOS 15 introduces a new Theft Protection feature to protect data if your phone is stolen or lost. When enabled, it will automatically lock your phone if it detects someone is running away with your phone. There is another toggle that you can enable to auto-lock the screen shortly after the phone goes offline.
