Ultrahuman debuts Rare, a luxury smart ring

0

The smart ring form factor has been around for a while now. But it’s safe to say that it’s largely thanks to Samsung launching the Galaxy Ring that more people are sitting up and paying attention. This year at CES 2025, the folks at Ultrahuman have launched a competitor in the form of the Rare smart ring. What makes this different is that Ultrahuman is approaching this from a luxury perspective.

The Ultrahuman Rare smart ring will launch in three different finishes. This includes Desert Rose, Dune, and Desert Snow. Both the Dune and Desert Rose rings are made with 18K gold. The company claims that the gold is sourced from London Bullion Market Association-approved refineries and hallmarked by the Bureau of Indian Standards. As for the Desert Snow finish, it is made from PT950 platinum.

We have to admit that these smart rings look pretty fancy compared to the competition. We also get the appeal. Not everyone likes to wear a watch, so a smart ring acts as a more subtle alternative. By creating a more luxurious version, it might encourage more fashion-conscious users to adopt the tech.

Speaking of tech, the Ultrahuman Rare smart ring will come with a host of health-tracking features. This includes photoplethysmography and 6-axis motion sensors that can help monitor health indicators such as sleep, movement, heart rate, heart rate variability, stress, and skin temperature.

There’s no word on pricing yet but based on the choice of materials, it won’t come cheap.
