OnePlus recently confirmed that the OnePlus 13 series will be launching globally on the 7th of January, 2025. Now it looks like the company has decided to unveil one member of the OnePlus 13 lineup ahead of schedule. This comes in the form of the OnePlus 13R.
At the moment it is unclear what the exact specs of the OnePlus 13R are. The company was a bit vague on the hardware, but it did reveal that it would be packing a massive 6,000mAh battery. This is larger than the average battery sizes most smartphone makers use, so it should last you quite a bit.
As for its chipset of choice, the OnePlus “R” series of phones are usually viewed as more budget-friendly alternatives to the main flagship lineup. The OnePlus 12R used a chipset that was a year older compared to the OnePlus 12. So it stands to reason that this could be the same for the OnePlus 13R.
Since the OnePlus 13 launched with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite, it might be a safe assumption that the OnePlus 13R could use the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. This is still an extremely powerful chipset and is basically the gold standard for flagship phones in 2024. So even though it might be a year old, it is more than capable.
OnePlus has confirmed that the handset will be available in both the US and Canada, so you should be able to get your hands on it soon.
