HMD recently announced the launch of the HMD Arc, a new addition to its budget smartphone lineup. First spotted on HMD’s Thailand website, the HMD Arc runs on the lightweight Android 14 Go, in addition to several other features which reveal its budget nature.
In terms of features, the phone features a 6.52-inch display with a 576 x 1280 pixel resolution and 460 nits of peak brightness, a Unisoc 9863A chipset with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage, a 5,000 mAh battery, as well as a 13MP main camera and a 5MP front camera. It’s as basic as they come, although it should work well for users who aren’t anything fancy.
Other details include a 3.5mm headphone jack, SD card support for up to 128GB, FM radio support, and up to two years of software updates. HMD hasn’t listed the price at this point though, although we’d imagine it’s lower than 200 bucks.
The HMD Arc isn’t the only Android 14 Go smartphone in recent memory – Motorola recently announced the Moto E15 which also runs on Google’s lightweight version of Android.
