OnePlus Open 2 could launch with Qualcomm flagship chipset

0

When the original OnePlus Open launched, we were very surprised and impressed at how good it was. It would have been easy to dismiss OnePlus’ efforts as just the company hopping on board the bandwagon, but we were proven wrong. Now according to the latest rumors, the OnePlus Open 2 could launch with the latest Qualcomm chipset in tow.

This is according to Digital Chat Station who shared the tidbit on Weibo. According to the tipster, it is expected that the Oppo Find N5 could come with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite. What has this got to do with the OnePlus Open 2?

For those unfamiliar, the original OnePlus Open was based on the Oppo Find N3. It was essentially a rebranded device for different markets. This is why it is also believed that the Oppo Find N5 could actually be the OnePlus Open 2. It shouldn’t be surprising that the OnePlus Open 2 takes advantage of the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite.

Its predecessor launched with Qualcomm’s flagship chipset at that time, so this should be no different. OnePlus made an interesting decision not to launch the handset this year. We have to commend the company’s choice as we’re not sure if annual refreshes are really that necessary. As for a launch date, last we heard the OnePlus Open 2 could be announced in the first quarter of 2025.
