If you’re enrolled in Samsung’s One UI 7 beta program, then you might want to check out the latest update which gives users a handy new feature during gaming sessions. As noted by the folks over at Sammobile, the latest One UI 7 beta version finally lets users select a specific refresh rate for their games.
The function is available via the Gaming Hub/Game Booster app, and allows users to switch between 60Hz or 120Hz refresh rates. Going for 120Hz does result in smoother visuals, although you’ll probably reach for your charging cable a lot earlier. It should be noted that One UI 6 lets users limit the refresh rate to 48Hz, although this setting is no longer an option (screenshots by Sammobile).
Samsung states that the feature will not affect games that have individual refresh rate settings, and games which do not support 120Hz. Users can additionally tweak other settings such as resolution and optimization levels for each game, as noted in the new update.
