Samsung Galaxy S26 could be a mostly Exynos affair

There have been rumors that the Samsung Galaxy S25 series could be a Qualcomm-exclusive handset. We heard rumors that Samsung was planning to use their Exynos chipsets, but due to low yield that might not be possible. The company could rectify that with the Galaxy S26, which apparently could be an Exynos affair.

This is according to a post on X by Jukanlosreve. The tipster claims that Samsung will “significantly” equip the Galaxy S26 with Exynos. We’re not sure what that means entirely. Could it be that the entire lineup will be exclusively powered by Exynos chipsets? Or if the majority of regions will get the Exynos version, while certain regions still get Qualcomm’s chipsets?

In the past, Samsung has opted for a dual chipset strategy. Some regions got Exynos, some got Qualcomm. That changed in 2023 with the Galaxy S23 series. The entire lineup was powered exclusively by Qualcomm’s chipsets. Many assumed this would be the case moving forwards, but the Galaxy S24 saw Samsung return to their roots.

So far Samsung’s Exynos chipsets haven’t been particularly well-received. By itself it’s not a bad chipset, but when you’re paying the same amount as someone else who has the Qualcomm version, it’s not surprising that some are finding it unfair. Either way, take it with a grain of salt for now as we’ll have to wait until 2026 to see if the Galaxy S26 could be entirely powered by the Exynos chipset.
