WhatsApp’s New Reminder Feature Goes Live for Beta Users

0

If you’re enrolled in WhatsApp’s beta program, then you might want to check your app for new updates – the messaging platform has started rolling out a new feature for beta users, which now comes with beta software version 2.24.25.2 for Android users.

The new feature will give users reminder notifications for unread messages, status updates and any other messages that you have not viewed yet. The notifications are reportedly decided by an in-app algorithm that determines priority contacts based on frequent interaction; this algorithm is not stored online, so the app natively calculates this via on-device operation.

With that said, users can choose to disable the feature as well via the notifications menu on their app. At the moment, there’s no word yet when the stable version of WhatsApp reminder notifications will arrive, so users who want to try it out might want to enrol in the beta version to get access to the feature.
