How to keep iPhone Standby Mode always on

0

Standby Mode was one of the unique features and highlights of the iOS 17 release last year. It is a lockscreen mode that gets activated when your iPhone is charging and is placed in landscape orientation. This mode can transform your iPhone into a bedside clock, photo frame, or display for checking Live Activities, widgets, and notifications. You can choose from different views by swiping left/right or up/down once the mode is activated.

However, you may notice Standby Mode on your iPhone is visible only for a while and the screen turns off. You have to tap the display to check Standby widgets and views. In this tutorial, we will help you figure out how to keep iPhone Standby Mode always on.

Keep iPhone Standby Mode Always On

The first thing you need to do is to check Standby Mode is enabled on your iPhone. Visit Settings > Standby and turn on the toggle if it is not already. Next, look for the Display setting on the same page. It has three options Automatically, 20 seconds, and Never.

The first option results in the display turning off automatically when not in use in a dark room. The second option will turn the display off after 20 seconds. We need to select the last option i.e. Never to keep the Standby Mode always on.

If your iPhone does not have this Display setting, it means your model does not support Always On Display. This is a functionality available only on Pro models i.e. iPhone 14 Pro series, iPhone 15 Pro series, and iPhone 16 Pro series.

If you are facing issues despite turning on the correct setting, it could be due to the Low Power Mode. This is a mode meant to preserve the battery and turn off the display when not in use. You can disable it by visiting Settings > Battery > Low Power Mode.
