The Redmi K80 is Affordable, and Comes with a Killer Chipset

0

Xiaomi’s Redmi devices have always shined in comparison to competing devices thanks to their remarkable price-to-performance ratio, and the latest Redmi K80 is a good example of this. Recently announced by Xiaomi, the phone’s biggest highlight is the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip inside, which brings flagship-grade performance to an otherwise midrange smartphone.

Priced starting at around $345 (when converted), the Redmi K80 features a 6.67-inch OLED display with a 1440×3200 pixel resolution, 120Hz refresh rate and up to 3,200 nits of peak brightness. It also comes with Gorilla Glass 7i, something that’s not usually seen on a lot of midrange smartphones. The phone’s chassis comes with an IP68 rating as well for dust and water resistance.

In addition to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 onboard, there’s also up to 1TB of storage and 16GB of RAM, as well as a 6,550 mAh battery with 90W charging support. For software, you’re getting Hyper OS 2 in addition to Android 15, and there’s a dual-camera setup consisting of a 50MP main camera, an 8MP ultrawide lens, and a 20MP selfie camera in front.

With all that said, it should be noted that the Redmi K-series phones rarely make it out of China, although they are rebranded as POCO devices at times for global markets. In any case, the Redmi K80 is undoubtedly a formidable midrange Android phone, especially in terms of hardware.
