While there have been several handset makers who have already launched handsets that utilize the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, Oppo has opted to go in a different direction. The company has announced that its latest smartphones, the Oppo Find X8 series, will be hitting the global markets with MediaTek’s chipset on board.
The Find X8 series was previously announced in China towards the end of October. For those who loved what they saw, you’ll be pleased to learn that the handset is now launching for global markets. Hardware wise, the Oppo Find X8 series for both China and the rest of the world are more or less identical.
We’re talking about the use of MediaTek’s latest Dimensity 9400 chipset which will be used in both the Find X8 and Find X8 Pro models. The phones will also come with 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. In terms of display, the base model features a 6.59-inch FHD+ OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. The Pro model gets a larger 6.78-inch display, but maintains the FHD+ resolution and its 120Hz refresh rate.
The batteries will also differ between the models. The base has a 5,630mAh battery with 80W charging, while the Pro model gets a 5,910mAh battery also with 80W charging. As for its cameras, both models share almost the same camera setup. This includes triple 50MP sensors that include a primary shooter, a telephoto, and a wide-angle lens. The difference is that the Pro model has an additional 50MP telephoto that can go up to 6x optical zoom.
Both the Oppo Find X8 and Find X8 Pro will ship with ColorOS 15 which is based on Android 15, so you’ll have the latest version of Android right out of the box.
