In case you’re not aware, Xiaomi launched its first electric car earlier this year, with the intent of taking on more established players in the EV industry. Simply called the Xiaomi SU7, company CEO Lei Jun stated several months back that Xiaomi was aiming to sell 100,000 units of the car before the year ends.
With that in mind, the company has finally hit its production goal for 2024, with Lei Jun posting the following message on his social media page:
Congratulations to our Xiaomi EV team! The 100,000th Xiaomi SU7 has officially rolled off the production line. For our first model, reaching this milestone in just 230 days is an incredible achievement!
Xiaomi initially predicted that it will be able to reach its 100,000 sales goal by December of this year, although the SU7 proved to be popular with EV buyers, and as a result the company adjusted its forecast for a much earlier date, with a 120,000 goal by December.
The company’s EV has certainly become one of the most talked-about electric cars this year, as it represents a first for Xiaomi, which is more known for its consumer electronic products. The Xiaomi SU7 was launched back in March, and starts at around $29,800 for the standard model.
