If you’re looking for a way to send files from your Android phone to your Windows PC, there are a bunch of ways you can go about doing that. One of those ways is through Google’s Quick Share feature. Now according to a report from 9to5Google, it seems that Google has quietly released a version of Quick Share for Windows on ARM.
Prior to this, there was never an official ARM version of the Quick Share app for Windows. As 9to5Google notes, users could get the app to work but the workarounds tended to be quite complex. However, with this new release, users with ARM-based Windows computers will be able to take advantage of the feature, according to its listing on Google’s website.
There are some system requirements in order to use the app. According to the FAQ, users will need to have a Windows PC running a 64-bit version of Windows 11 and up for ARM-based devices. Interestingly enough, despite this update, it is noted that it is still not a native ARM64 app. A post on X by Mishaal Rahman revealed that users will still need to run it through an emulation.
It might be less complex than the previous workarounds, but it is definitely not as straightforward as downloading an app and being able to use it rightaway.
