Just last week, Qualcomm announced its new Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset. If you’re looking for a smartphone that is making use of the new hardware, then you might want to check out Honor’s latest smartphones which comes in the form of the Honor Magic 7 and Magic 7 Pro.

Under the hood, both the Magic 7 and Magic 7 Pro are powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset. Both devices are nearly identical to each other. The Magic 7 has a 6.78-inch display, while the Magic 7 Pro has a 6.8-inch display, which side-by-side we don’t think should be that noticeable.

Both handsets also come with a base of 12GB of RAM, but the battery sizes are different. The Honor Magic 7 comes with a 5,650mAh battery, while the Pro version gets a slightly larger 5,850mAh battery. The cameras are also different between the models. If you’re serious about smartphone photography, the Pro model could be a better choice.

It features a 50MP sensor for the main shooter and the ultrawide camera, and a 200MP camera for the telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom, but 100x digital zoom. The Magic 7, on the other hand, has a trio of 50MP sensors, so only the telephoto camera is different. At the moment, both the Magic 7 and Magic 7 Pro are only available in China.

Honor did confirm that there are plans to debut it globally, but did not mention when, so we’ll have to wait and see.
