Xiaomi’s POCO Brand to Close Down its Online Stores in Europe

0

Xiaomi’s POCO sub-brand has undoubtedly been one of the most successful things to come from the Chinese tech giant, and it’s reach in various regions worldwide is nothing short of impressive. With that said though, it looks like Xiaomi is looking to shake things up following a recent surprise announcement.

According to new information online, several POCO websites including those in the UK and French regions will shut down by the end of this year (December 31, 2024 to be precise). Fear not though, as this is simply to consolidate POCO devices sales under Xiaomi’s main official website. The change will include products, services, and after-sales support.

Additionally, customer service, purchase records, and loyalty programs including POCO Points will automatically be transferred to Xiaomi’s main platform, and users will not need to perform extra actions. Interestingly enough, POCO’s Indian website remains intact for the time being, and will not be included with the shutdown.

While POCO was intended at some point to be a somewhat independent brand separate from Xiaomi, it seems that this wasn’t really the case given that all POCO phones still incorporated hardware and software elements from mainline Xiaomi devices.
