OnePlus 13 could be first with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4

The majority of flagship phones that launched this year are using the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. In 2025, we expect that will be the case for the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4, although one company could beat everyone to the punch. That is expected to come in the form of OnePlus with the OnePlus 13 that could launch with the new chipset.

This is according to OnePlus China President Louis Lee who confirmed on Weibo that the OnePlus 13 will launch this month. Lee did not mention when exactly the phone will launch, but in his post, he does mention that it will use the “latest Snapdragon flagship chip”. Suffice to say that this is the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4.

Qualcomm is hosting their annual Snapdragon Summit towards the end of the month. That is when the company will most likely unveil the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4. If that is the case, we can safely assume the OnePlus 13 will launch around that time as well. We doubt that OnePlus will unveil the phone before Qualcomm officially announces their new chipset.

This launch could also make OnePlus the first Android handset maker to launch a smartphone using the new chipset. We did previously hear that Xiaomi could be the first, but now it looks like OnePlus could beat them to it.
