One of the cool features of Android is that when it comes to messenger apps, there is a feature that they can use to make their windows float on the screen. This gives users quick and easy access to messages even when using other apps. Now it looks like in Android 16, that floating window feature could be available to all apps.
This is according to a report from Android Authority where in the latest beta of Android 15, Mishaal Rahman discovered references to a “bubble anything” feature. When the feature is activated, it basically allows any app to float on your screen like a bubble, similar to how messenger apps work on Android at the moment.
This is actually really cool and could make multitasking on Android even better than ever. Rahman points out that this could be even better for Android tablets where people might use it for productivity and might want to keep multiple apps open. It is unclear when this feature is expected to go live, but it is speculated that maybe it could be reserved for Android 16.
There is also another possibility that maybe Google could shelve it. The company does experiment with new features from time to time that don’t make the cut in the end, but here’s hoping that this one does.
