A while back, we got word that Google’s already begun working on the Pixel 9a, with early leaked photos showing a rather drastic change in terms of design. Google’s A-series models have traditionally followed the general aesthetic setup of their premium siblings, but it looks like Google wants to shake things up with the Pixel 9a.

A post shared by Android Headlines shows several shots of the Pixel 9a from different angles, corroborating the design that we saw in the hands-on photo earlier on. While it does retain the rounded corners and flat sides of the Pixel 9 series, the Pixel series’ most notable design trait to date – the camera bar – is nowhere to be seen on the 9a’s glossy rear panel.
Instead, there’s an off-center camera cutout without any other surrounding design accents, breaking the trend that we’ve seen since the Pixel 6 just three generations ago. This has led to some to speculate that the Pixel 10 series might ditch the camera bar as well, although at this point nothing is certain. Other than that, the 9a is expected to come with the Tensor G4, albeit with an older modem inside.
