The Galaxy Watch FE now Lets You Directly Make Phone Calls

A while back, Samsung announced the Galaxy Watch FE, a wallet-friendly smartwatch (which is essentially a modernized Galaxy Watch 4), and while it did pack a ton of essential features, many were quick to point out that it did not come with an LTE version. That all changes today following the announcement of a slightly newer Watch FE model, which now comes with – you guessed it – LTE connectivity.

With that in mind, the rest of the watch’s specs remain mostly the same aside from the added LTE data features. There’s an aluminum case that wraps around a 1.2-inch Super AMOLED touch display. As with most Wear OS devices, it also comes with 5ATM + IP68 certification for added water resistance.

The watch is powered by Samsung’s Exynos W920 chip, alongside 1.5GB RAM and 16GB of storage for apps. For software, the watch launches with One UI 5 Watch with access to a suite of Samsung-exclusive software alongside staples from Google. There’s also a 247 mAh battery, which should be able to power the device for a days’ worth of use.

Additionally, there’s also has a wealth of sensors onboard, which include a Samsung BioActive Sensor (Optical Heart Rate + Electrical Heart + Bioelectrical Impedance Analysis), Accelerometer, Barometer, Gyro Sensor, Geomagnetic Sensor, and a Light Sensor. It launches on October 3, with pre-orders available at $249.99.
