The Galaxy S24 FE is Pretty Impressive, Except for One Thing

Samsung has finally taken the wraps off the Galaxy S24 FE, the much-awaited FE counterpart to the company’s flagship S24 series. While many have hoped that the S24 FE will feature a Snapdragon chip (in contrast to the Exynos chipset on the S23 FE), it seems that Samsung is quite adamant about using its own chips on its FE series, as is the case with the S24 FE.

According to the company, the Exynos 2400e chip inside the S24 FE has been improved for efficiency, and even goes so far as to market the phone as made for gaming. To Samsung’s credit, it does feature an improved vapor chamber which should hopefully help dissipate heat especially during prolonged gaming sessions.

The phone features a 6.7-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, and a triple-camera setup consisting of a 50MP main camera, a 12MP ultrawide camera, and an 8MP telephoto camera, complemented by a 10MP selfie camera in front. Powering the device is a 4,700 mAh battery which supports 25W charging speeds.

For software, there’s Android 14 onboard with One UI 6.1, and Samsung does include its usual suite of AI-powered software features. The Galaxy S24 FE starts at $649.99 and is available in Blue, Graphite, Gray, and Mint, available on Samsung.com and major carriers and retailers beginning October 3.
