Next year, Samsung will release the Galaxy S25 series. We expect the usual hardware upgrades, although from what we’re hearing so far, it could be a bit of a disappointment. If you thought that maybe you should wait until the Galaxy S26 and then upgrade, then prepare to be disappointed again.
According to a post on X by Ice Universe, it seems that the Galaxy S26 won’t be a particularly huge upgrade over the previous models. The report claims that the handset will continue using the same 50MP rear-facing camera as the Galaxy S24. Now, this doesn’t mean that the photos will be bad, it’s just that it doesn’t feel like Samsung is pushing the envelope as much compared to the competition.
Even companies like Apple who are notorious for not keeping up with the trends have been upgrading their cameras more often than Samsung. That being said, it doesn’t mean that the phone will be a flop. If you’re coming from a much older Galaxy S handset, the gains from the newer chipset should still make it a worthwhile upgrade.
Also, since this rumor is very early as the Galaxy S26 is only coming in 2026, things could very well change from now until then. So until we get the official announcement, do take this with a huge dose of salt for now.
