Google now sells a USB-C to HDMI cable for your Pixel phone

There are several ways that you can connect your smartphone to your TV or an external display. You can always cast it using Chromecast or use your TV’s wireless function. But if you prefer a cabled connection, you might be interested to learn that Google is now selling a USB-C to HDMI cable for Pixel phones.

This cable is made by Cable Matters and will work with the Pixel 8 and newer. Basically, the USB-C connects to your Pixel phone, and the HDMI end connects to a display. The cable itself measures 6 feet long with USB-C DP Alt Mode and HDMI (4K@60Hz) connectors. It is priced at $30 which isn’t too bad if you’re someone that can appreciate this functionality.

Google actually introduced support for DisplayPort on the Pixel 8 back in June. The company had pitched the feature as a way for users to show off project slides, photos, videos, or mirror your phone’s entire display. Like we said, though, there are other ways of mirroring your phone’s contents on an external display, but wired is typically better due to latency and the straightforward nature of the setup.

If you think that this cable could be of use to you, head on over to the Google Store and grab one for yourself today.
