After teasing the MatePad 12X not too long ago, Huawei has finally announced global availability for its new tablet, which is priced starting at £549. The company also unveiled the new MatePad Pro 12.2-inch which is priced at £699, although at the moment it’s not available internationally.
With that in mind, the Matepad 12X features a 12-inch display with a 2800×1840 pixel resolution, and a 144Hz refresh rate. This screen is wrapped in a sleek-looking metal chassis. Running things is Huawei’s own Kirin T90A chipset, paired with a choice of either 8 or 12GB RAM, and 256GB of storage.
As for software, the MatePad 12X comes with Huawei’s own HarmonyOS 4.2 with its own set of exclusive apps and software features.
Battery hardware is fairly impressive as well, with a 10,100 mAh capacity unit inside and support for 66W charging speeds. Finally, the tablet also comes with a 13MP main camera, and an 8MP front-facing camera. Interestingly, the tablet will also come in a variant with a PaperMatte display, which should provide for a nice alternative.
