Over the years, the screens of our phones have gotten larger. In order to make them still usable, handset makers have relied on newer display technology that uses thinner bezels. That is something Samsung will be doing to its upcoming Galaxy S25 Ultra, where the bezels are expected to be even thinner than the iPhone 16 Pro series.
According to a post on X by Ice Universe, the Galaxy S25 Ultra is expected to feature bezels that are 0.2mm thinner than its predecessor, the Galaxy S24 Ultra. Ultimately, this is also expected to result in bezels that are thinner than the new iPhone 16 Pro models.
Apple’s new iPhone 16 Pro series, like the iPhone 16 Pro Max, have increased its display size from 6.7-inches to 6.9-inches. To keep things reasonable, they have shrunk the bezels. This results in a phone that is still bigger than its predecessor, but not overly so. We’re looking at dimensions of 163 x 77.6 x 8.3 mm versus 159.9 x 76.7 x 8.3 mm in the iPhone 15 Pro Max.
If Samsung manages to make their bezels even thinner, they could very well end up maintaining the same dimensions, or if it is bigger, make it marginally so. Either way, we won’t know for sure so take it with a grain of salt. Samsung is expected to introduce their new flagship phones in the early part of 2025, which is still several months away.
