The iPhone 16 Pro’s A18 Pro benchmarks are in!

0

Apple recently announced its new iPhone 16 series. The iPhone 16 and 16 Plus are powered by the A18 chipset, while the iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max models use a more powerful variant in the A18 Pro. If you’re curious about its performance, the A18 Pro benchmarks are already in.

According to a listing on Geekbench, it seems that the A18 Pro is quite the beast in terms of performance. It managed to score 3,409 points in single-core, and 8,492 points for multi-core. For a bit of context, the iPhone 15 Pro Max which uses the A17 Pro scored 2,887 and 7,158 points respectively. This is quite a step up in terms of raw performance.

Also, if you want to compare it against Android devices, the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra which uses the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 scored 2,145 points and 6,702 points for single and multi-core performance. What’s interesting is that the A18 Pro appears to be even more powerful than Apple’s M1 computer-class chipset. The M1 managed a single-core score of 2,342 and a multi-core score of 8,350.

That being said, it’s not a fair comparison to compare the A18 Pro against Android devices. Both iOS and Android run completely different platforms, so it’s not exactly apples to apples here. Plus, benchmarks only tell one part of the story. At the end of the day, it depends on how you use your device and what you use it for. In any case, if you are planning to upgrade to the iPhone 16 Pro or Pro Max, hopefully the A18 Pro benchmarks will help in your decision.
